An Luo received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in industrial automation from Hunan University, Changsha, in 1982 and 1986, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in fluid power transmission and control from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1993. Between 1996 and 2002, he was a Professor with Central South University. Since 2003, he has been a Professor in the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University, where he also serves as the Chief of National Electric Power Conversion and Control Engineering Technology Research Center. His research interests mainly include distributed generation, microgrid, and power quality. He was elected to the Chinese National Academy of Engineering (CNAE) in 2015, the highest honor for scientists and engineers and scientists in China. He has won the highly prestigious China National Science and Technology Awards three times (2014, 2010 and 2006). He has directed and completed over 10 programs, such as 973 sub-program, 863 program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperation program, Hunan science and technology major program, etc. He has published over 200 academic papers, and 36 of them were indexed in SCI. He obtained over 50 national invention patents, including one gold award and one excellent award. He obtained honorary titles like “National Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker”, “The Ho Leung and Ho Lee Foundation”, “Hunan Guangzhao Science and Technology Award”, “Hunan Working Model”, etc.

Chongqing Kang holds Bachelor’s degrees of both Electrical Power Engineering and Environmental Engineering in 1993, and a Ph.D in Electrical Power Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1997. He is full professor and Chairman of Executive Committee of Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interest focused on power system planning, power system operation, renewable energy, low carbon electricity technology and load forecasting. He is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He was supported by Fok Ying Tung foundation and enrolled in Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by Ministry of Education. He was a visiting scholar in Cambridge University during 2007-2008. He was enrolled in the “Ten Thousand Talent Program” in 2016. He is Fellow of IEEE and IET. He has been the PI for 9 grants supported by NSFC, in which 3 of them was supported to collaborate with UK (Royal Society), South Korea (NRF-National Research Foundation) and United States (TAMU). He leads one of the Major State Basic Research Development Program “Smart Grid Technology and Equipments” in 2016. He has published 3 monographs (in Chinese) as the first author and one book in English (second author). He has published over 300 academic papers and two of them were titled top 100 most influential papers in China in 2008 and 2012 respectively. He won the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award in 2014. He was granted one gold award and one silver award in the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva in 2016. He was granted two silver awards in the 10th Beijing Invention and Innovation Contest in 2016. He obtained 15 authorized invention patents and 10 software copyrights.

Dean of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor

 

Jinyu Wen received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. He was a Visiting Student from 1996 to 1997 and Research Fellow from 2002 to 2003 all at the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, UK, and a Senior Visiting Researcher at the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, USA, in 2010. From 1998 to 2002 he was a Director Engineer with XJ Electric Co. Ltd. in China. In 2003, he joined the HUST and now is a Professor with the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, HUST. He is Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program of Ministry of Education, Chairman of University Association of Electrical Engineering China, and Executive Member of CSEE. His current research interests include renewable energy integration, energy storage, multi-terminal HVDC and power system operation and control. He has published over 300 academic papers. He participated and obtained a First Prize and a Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and two First Prize Provincial and Ministerial-level Award. He obtained 31 national invention patents and 3 American patents.

Vice President of North China Electric Power University, Professor

 

Tianshu Bi received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2002. She is currently a Professor at North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China. Her research interests include power system protection and control, and synchrophasor measurement and its applications. She was enrolled in “The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars” and leading personnel of “Ten Thousand Talent Program”. She is Fellow of IEEE. She successively took charge of National Major Scientific Instrument Development Program, Foundations Major International Cooperation Research Program, 973 Program, 863 Program, National Major and Key Programs and Science and Technology Programs for Large State-owned Enterprises. She was granted 1 Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and 2 First Prize of Technology Invention of Ministry of Education. She won the First Prize of Beijing Teaching Achievement Award. She was granted China Electric Power Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award and Mao Yisheng Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award.
