Abstract:The tip speed ratio method can realize fast power tracking in the process of wind turbine controlling. However, the inconsistency of wind speed between the measured value and the actual value lead unable to achieve maximum power point frequently. Because the climbing search method does not require the measurement of wind speed, the combination of tip speed ratio method and climbing search method is adopted to realize fast maximum power tracking. When wind speed exceed ±1m/s, this paper calculates reference speed according to measured wind speed by use of tip speed ratio control method, and then follows quickly. When wind speed reaches the specified speed, it switches to climbing search method to realize accurate maximum power tracking. In the Matlab environment, the Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Wind Generator model is established, which can simulate that, when the wind speed changes, the combination of tip speed ratio method and climbing search method can realized fast and accurate maximum power tracking, and has a dynamic characteristics and steady-state characteristics.
