This paper discusses some important topics about 220 kV unattended substation modification, such as the selection of modification mode, the pattern of local monitoring system and interlock function, the way of collecting protection information and the integration of protection and monitoring device. Some personal views of the above problems are given, and some helpful experience about the 220 kV substation unattended modification is presented.
