摘要:
时域仿真是研究电力系统暂态稳定性的重要手段。该方法主要涉及微分代数方程(DAE)的数值求解。目前,电力系统暂态稳定性仿真最常用的方法是先用隐式梯形法离散常微分方程,再用拟牛顿法求解非线性方程组。对于大规模电力系统,这种仿真方法非常耗时,因为在每一步的积分过程中通常需要多次迭代。提出了一种基于Kahan方法的数值方法来实现快速的暂态稳定性仿真,其中电力系统的机电暂态特性由二次微分代数系统描述,然后用Kahan方法求解DAE的非线性方程。基于Kahan方法提出的仿真方法是线性隐式的,可以通过求解单个线性系统来计算每个时间步长的积分。因此,它比现有方法具有更好的计算效率。在5机18节点系统和IEEE145节点系统上进行的研究证实了该方法的有效性。

Fast transient stability simulation using the quadratic vector field method

Abstract:
Time-domain simulation is an important method for researching the transient stability of a power system. This approach mainly involves numerical solution of Differential-Algebraic Equations (DAE). Currently, the most commonly used simulation method first uses an implicit trapezoidal rule to discretize ordinary differential equations, and then employs a Newton-like method to solve the system of nonlinear equations. For a large-scale power system, such a simulation method is time consuming because multiple iterations are usually required in the integration of each time step. This paper proposes a numerical method based on the Kahan method to realize fast transient stability simulation, wherein the electro-mechanical transient behavior of a power system is described by a quadratic differential-algebraic system, and then the Kahan method is used to solve the nonlinear system of DAEs. Based on the Kahan method, the proposed simulation method is only linearly implicit, and the integration at each time step can be computed by solving a single linear system. Thus it has better computational efficiency than existing methods. Case studies conducted on a 5-generator 18-bus and IEEE 145-bus test systems have confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
